  1.     Pumps are more sophisticated devices.
  2. They have a large chamber that is filled with
  3. a drug, usually 1 to 1¬Ω ounces (30 to 50 mL).
  4. The pump has a mechanism, driven by the
  5. body's heat, that allows the drug to be
  6. delivered constantly through a small catheter
  7. inserted into a vein or artery without the need
  8. for a stay in the hospital. It is sometimes
  9. possible to target a specific organ such as the
  10. liver and deliver large amounts of chemo- 
  11. therapy drugs directly to it through an artery.
  12.     To support radiation therapy , an operation
  13. can be performed to implant catheters that are
  14. subsequently loaded with a radioemitter.
